Freda was a local resident who loved walking her dogs in Ewell Court Park and played an enthusiastic part in the Friends of the Park.  She was also a firm supporter of the Ewell Court House Organisation (ECHO).  Through these local interests she met and made friends with a lot of people and on her death last year many felt that they would like to contribute to a collection in memory of Freda.

The collection totalled £285 and the Friends of the Park have expressed their thanks for the generous donations.

In view of Freda’s love for the Park and all wildlife it was felt that there should be something permanent to remember her by in the area.

It was therefore decided to commission a sculpture, which has now been purchased through ‘The Fire and Iron Gallery’ at Leatherhead (  The 3ft high by 2¼ft wide sculpture of a stainless steel dragonfly on a leaf is pictured left.  It is hoped to secure it in the rock garden adjacent to the lake in Ewell Court Park.  ECHO has kindly volunteered to arrange the siting of the sculpture in conjunction with their project to landscape that area.  The work is dependent on partial grant funding and therefore completion may take a little while.

It is also hoped to incorporate a small memorial plaque with the sculpture.
